8th Annual Consumer Goods Sales & Marketing Summit Slated for June 2011 With Focus on "Delighting Your Customers: Optimizing Relationships With Retailers & Consumers"

RANDOLPH, NJ--(Marketwire - February 24, 2011) -  Entering its 8th year, Consumer Goods Technology magazine's Consumer Goods Sales & Marketing Summit (CGSM) will bring together more than 225 senior-level consumer goods sales, marketing and IT executives who want to stay ahead of fast-moving developments in an ever-changing market. The Conference will be held June 6-8, 2011, at The Roosevelt Hotel in New York City.

With the continued convergence of business and IT teams within consumer goods companies, CGSM remains committed to providing a thought-leadership forum where CG executives can network with their peers, share ideas and experiences and learn about important industry trends. This 8th annual Summit features a thought-provoking agenda with insights into creating more effective retail partnerships, marketing investments, promotions efforts and brand penetration, along with numerous networking opportunities that will enable attendees to connect with visionary leaders, step back to examine their business plans and discover new ways to move their companies forward.

Each year CGSM creates an agenda with presentations and workshops that feature speakers from the top CG companies in the country, as well as from top research firms and other nationally recognized experts. The opening keynote will focus on "The Retail Perspective," with the second day keynote covering "Consumer Trends." A presentation by Bernard Eloy, Director of Virtual Solutions for Procter & Gamble, on "Leveraging Virtual Reality for Consumer Insights," will reveal how P&G is using virtual reality to deliver a more effective store presence and improve the shopper experience.

Other agenda highlights include a "Wall Street Perspective" panel discussion and sessions with fresh perspectives on mobile marketing, trade promotion optimization and management, category management, sales force mobility and how to make the best use of customer data.

Consumer Goods Technology's publisher Albert Guffanti states, "The recent recession resulted in fundamental changes that continue to impact the CG industry, including a much more savvy and mobile consumer, the prominence of private label brands, a new appreciation for cash flow management and a whole new level of cost cutting. Each year this Summit presents the best and most recent knowledge and strategies that will help our attendees not only keep pace with the industry, but lead the way to tomorrow's success." As the VP of IT for L'Oreal put it, "[CGSM] brings together relevant industry leaders from cross-functional CPG forms, vendors and providers that cover the business and technology landscape in a fun environment."
