A&W Cruisin' for a Cause Day, on August 27; A Delicious Way to End Multiple Sclerosis!

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Aug. 20, 2009) - The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada is proud to announce its partnership with A&W, Canada's original hamburger quick service restaurant chain. Together, they have created a special day of support - A&W Cruisin' for a Cause Day (Journee Retro A&W) - based on their mutual tradition of family sharing and community caring. The first A&W Cruisin' for a Cause Day (Journee Retro A&W) was created so that friends and family could all go to A&W for fun, food and to support a good cause.

All day long on August 27, 2009, nearly 700 restaurants in Canada-and close to 90 in Quebec-will donate $1 to the MS Society from the sale of every Teen Burger. Each dollar will help stop multiple sclerosis (MS) by supporting critical research and developing vital services for the 13,000 to 18,000 Quebeckers who live with MS and their loved ones.

A&W Cruisin' for a Cause Day (Journee Retro A&W) will be a truly unique event, filled with fun and surprises. Customers will be treated to retro decor, an exhibit of classic cars and the music of the 50's and the 60's. Just ask your nearest A&W restaurant for the special events planned in your area.

MS is the most common neurological disease affecting young adults in Canada, mainly between the ages of 15 and 40-critical ages when they dream of starting families and careers. Extreme fatigue, coordination and vision problems, loss of balance and partial-sometimes total-paralysis are some of the symptoms associated with MS.
