AEHI Idaho Nuclear Project Gets Nod From Payette County P&Z

PAYETTE, ID--(Marketwire - January 15, 2010) - Alternate Energy Holdings, Inc. (OTCBB: AEHI) -- In a 9 to 2 decision last night, the Payette County Planning and Zoning Commission recommended a proposed change to the county's comprehensive plan to open the door for a proposed nuclear plant by AEHI.

"This is a major hurdle for AEHI, one which puts us on a path to building Idaho's first commercial nuclear power plant and one of the nation's first deregulated advanced reactors. The recommendation also sets the stage for many investors who have been waiting for a sign this project had legs to support the company," said Don Gillispie, Alternate Energy Holdings, Inc. Chairman and CEO.

The plant is expected to employ thousands of people in high paying jobs through the construction and eventual operations. The facility will also change the financial landscape in Payette County, in a way that will require a variety of additional businesses to support the people working at the plant. The project is expected created almost $3 billion for the state's GDP during construction, with the majority going into the local area while providing low cost clean energy for the region.
