AJM Petroleum Consultants Welcomes Phil Chan as New VP, Advisory Services

New hire deepens AJM's already significant international and large-producer experience

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Oct. 9, 2009) - Robin C. Mann, CEO of Calgary-based AJM Petroleum Consultants announced today that 35-year industry veteran Phil Chan has joined the company as Vice President, Advisory Services. Mr. Chan's appointment was effective October 1, 2009.

Mr. Chan is a professional petroleum engineer with over 35 years of experience in various technical and managerial capacities with senior and junior oil and gas companies. He graduated with a B.Eng. in Chemical Engineering from Nova Scotia Technical College and earned his M.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alberta. For the past 22 years, he has worked with Talisman Energy Inc. in Operations; in Reservoir Engineering; and the Acquisitions and Divestiture (A&D) Group. Prior to retiring from Talisman in 2009, he was the Senior Manager of Petroleum Engineering for North American Operations, and responsible for co-ordination of reserves reporting for the company.

Phil has worked with a group of senior cross border issuers that made recommendations to the Alberta Securities Commission on harmonization of Canadian and US disclosure standards. He served as the Chairman of the Canadian Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) in 2004-2005, and remains an active contributor to the SPE's reserves definition initiatives.
