ASM International N.V. Completes Common Share Repurchase

BILTHOVEN, THE NETHERLANDS--(Marketwire - May 29, 2007) - ASM International N.V. (NASDAQ: ASMI) and (ASX: ASM) said today that it has repurchased 178,706 shares of its common stock for approximately EUR 3.5 million. The average price paid was EUR 19.56 per share. The share repurchase is part of the Company's flexible program to use the cash dividends received from its subsidiary, ASM Pacific Technology Ltd. (ASMPT).

With this share repurchase of EUR 3.5 million and the outlay of EUR 20.5 million on the previously announced buy back of USD 20.1 million of the principal amount of Convertible Notes, due in 2010 and 2011, the Company has completed the distribution of the EUR 24 million ASMPT cash dividend received on April 30, 2007.
