ASML Holding Has the Top Management Team in Europe, According to Institutional Investor's Ranking of Senior Executives


NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - April 12, 2010) - The Dutch technology company ASML Holding boasts the best management team among publicly listed European companies, according to an exclusive ranking by Institutional Investor.

The Switzerland-based mining company Xstrata, Swiss biotech firm Actelion, French luxury goods conglomerate LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, and U.K. maker of household products Reckitt Benckiser Group round out the top five in Institutional Investor's 2010 All-Europe Executive Team.

The magazine asked equity analysts to identify the best chief executive officers, chief financial officers, investor relations professionals and corporate IR teams across 33 industry sectors.

ASML Holding, which makes equipment for manufacturing semiconductors, is the only company that ranked first in every category in the opinion of both buy- and sell-side analysts. "We have been able to gain market share at the cutting edge of our industry's technology," says ASML's Peter Wennink, who was voted the top CFO in Technology/Semiconductors. "We have come out of the crisis as winners."

Unilever's Paul Polman is rated the best CEO among Food Producers by the sell side and buy side. Analysts praise his emphasis on volume growth and on marketing new products globally. "Polman has a galvanizing impact on Unilever," says Jon Cox, analyst at Kepler Capital Markets. Buy siders also rank the company's CFO, James Lawrence, in first place for Best CFO in the Food Producers sector.

Institutional Investor's 2010 All-Europe Executive Team is based on the opinions of 650 portfolio managers and investment officers at 385 firms managing $3 trillion in pan-European equities and 1,094 sell-side analysts at 146 firms.
