AU COEUR DE LA MODE: Fall 2009 Edition

The Farha Foundation raised nearly $335,000; Proceeds will go to help people living with HIV/AIDS in Quebec.

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Nov. 17, 2009) - On Sunday, November 15th, nearly 80 local and international designers, grouped under one roof to sell their most recent collections at 50% off or more. The proceeds of $335,000 from this event will go to help the more than 20,000 men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS in Quebec.

"When my son died of AIDS 17 years ago, he could not have imagined that the Farha Foundation would still be existing today, but would be happy to see the efforts made by many volunteers and participants of AU COEUR DE LA MODE. This event is one of many put on by the Farha Foundation and the funds raised through sales made at this fashion event go to help people living with HIV / AIDS live a better life." said Evelyn Farha, Honorary President of the Farha Foundation.

Once again, AU COEUR DE LA MODE helped the Farha Foundation remind the population that HIV/AIDS is still a reality for nearly 20,000 people in Quebec.

AU COEUR DE LA MODE would not have been possible without the valiant help of nearly 350 volunteers; the support of our dedicated sponsors: AM940, Au Pain Dore, Clin D'oeil, Zenergy Communications, CTV, Equinoxe Graphiques, Fugues, Info690, Montreal en Sante, Marketwire, Metromedia Plus, Musique Plus and Musimax; the nearly 80 participating vendors; and the some 3,000 patrons.

About the Farha Foundation www.farha.qc.ca

The Farha Foundation is Quebec's leading AIDS fundraising organization, committed to help men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS. The events organized by the Farha Foundation also serve to sensitize the population to the AIDS pandemic.

Since 1992, the Farha Foundation has distributed close to 8 million dollars to some 70 AIDS service organizations throughout Quebec providing care and services (housing, medication, food, palliative care, counselling, homecare, etc.) as well as AIDS prevention and education programs. A volunteer advisory committee screens which organizations the Foundation funds, and then follows up to ensure the funds are being put to the best possible use.
