AZCAR Awarded Multi-year Contract for Media Technology Consulting and Management for the Toronto International Film Festival Group's Festival Centre

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 24, 2007) - Stephen Pumple, President & CEO of AZCAR Technologies Inc. (TSX:AZZ) is pleased to announce that AZCAR has been awarded a multi-year professional services contract for the Toronto International Film Festival Group's Festival Centre.

AZCAR will provide Technology Consulting, Design Engineering, and Integration Project Management and Supervision for the Media and AV portion of the Festival Centre project. Festival Centre is the new home for TIFFG located on the northwest corner of the King Street West and John Street intersection in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The project is made possible through the relationship between the Toronto International Film Festival Group, and the King and John Festival Corporation (KJFC), comprising The Daniels Corporation, filmmaker Ivan Reitman and the Reitman Family.

The vision of this development initiative is to create a unique centre for the promotion of Canadian and international film. Festival Centre will be dedicated to moving image arts and a will become a tourist destination in the City of Toronto. The project is comprised of a 5-storey podium facility including a 6000 sf Status "AA" Gallery, five (5) state of the art HD video and film theatres with 550, 350, 250, 150 and 100 seat capacities, education salons, lounge spaces, a private screening room, the Film Reference Library and offices. Atop the 5 storeys rests Festival Tower, a 37-storey condominium building that will be built and operated by KJFC, which combined with Festival Centre, cover the entire 42,000 sf site.

With theatres designed and equipped to the highest industry standards, Festival Centre will be recognized as a pre-eminent destination for premiere screenings of world cinema. The ambience and technical presentation will define the quintessential cinema experience.

The Festival Centre will be a "plug and play" building. The Festival Centre will provide a building where technicians and media can readily plug in equipment and capture content anywhere in the building. The facility will be able to interconnect with remote broadcast trucks by patching and distributing all their feeds and be able to receive feed or files from Satellite for distribution and playback.

The project's technical system highlights include

- Projection Screens including motorized masking and draperies;

- 70 mm/ 35 mm/ 16 mm projection systems;

- Theatre/ screening room sound systems;

- Theatre/ screening room theatrical lighting systems;

- HD/ 2K video production, storage, editing, distribution, monitoring and projection systems;

- Audio/ visual systems for all meeting rooms, Main Lobby, Gallery, Box Office, Book Store/ Retail space, Lobby Image Screens, Green Room, Educational salons, Master Control, Members' Lounge, Promenade/ Concession areas, Film Reference Library, roof level, Translation Booth/Voice-Over Booth, Loading Dock, Condos and other related ancillary circulation and support spaces
