Abbastar Recommences Drilling on the Doran Uranium Property

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 12, 2007) - Further to the news release dated August 23, 2007, Abbastar Uranium Corp. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:ABA) is pleased to announce that it has commenced a drill program on the Doran Showing ("Main Zone"), located at the south-end of the Doran Uranium Property (the "Doran Property") in Eastern Quebec. The Company intends to complete the program over the next several weeks. The objective of the program is to obtain a better understanding of the characteristics of the uranium-bearing pegmatite bodies, the structural geology context and uranium mineralization. Encouraging results in the previous drill program and easy access to the Main Zone led to the decision to extend drilling in this area.

To date, 48 drill holes have been completed in five anomalous zones (L, N, X, Y, and Main Zone) on the Doran Property. The Company has identified 24 uranium airborne anomalies on the Doran Property. The current drill campaign will focus on the Main Zone, situated 1.5 kilometres off Provincial Highway 138, where a 16-hole drill program (1196 metres) was completed in 2006. These new drill holes will test the areas between the previous drill sites with the intention of delineating the depth extension of uraniferous pegmatites along strike and laterally.
