Nineteen Academic Institutions Join the Blackboard Commerce Suite Community

SAN ANTONIO, TX, -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 15, 2005 -- NACAS 37th Annual Conference -- As academic institutions around the nation are facing the demand to provide higher level services, enhanced security and improved conveniences to students and faculty, many are turning to Blackboard Inc. (NASDAQ: BBBB), a leading provider of software and services to the education industry, for a complete solution. Blackboard announced today at the NACAS 37th Annual Conference, that 19 campuses from across the United States and Canada have recently joined the Blackboard® community, licensing software and hardware products from the Blackboard Commerce Suite. The Blackboard Commerce Suite™ includes three enterprise software applications that support cashless transactions on-campus, off-campus and online.

Campuses which have recently licensed the Blackboard Commerce Suite include The City University of New York - Bronx Community College, University of Toronto, St. Bonaventure University, and The University of Nevada, Reno, among others.

All of the 19 new clients will implement The Blackboard Transaction System™, the heart of the Blackboard Commerce Suite, which manages the administration, processing, and reporting functions for a variety of campus services. The Blackboard Transaction System is used by hundreds of colleges to securely process millions of transactions involving payments, data transfer, physical access control and activity authentication, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
