Académie Juillet's Revolutionary Program

Tailored for Today's Busy Families Attention: Education Editor, Health/Medical Editor, Lifestyle Editor, News Editor, Sports Editor CANDIAC, QC--(CCNMatthews - June 20, 2005) - Académie Juillet ( a revolutionary new primary school in Candiac, Quebec today announced that it will open its doors to students beginning in September, 2006. The Académie Juillet is a revolutionary school, dedicated to responding to the needs of today's families. Children are offered a well-rounded educational experience that includes academics, sports, and extracurricular activities, all under one roof.

"Académie Juillet will provide a stimulating environment for students, where they can participate in a variety of activities throughout the day, not just sit at a desk and be lectured at," said Marylène Juillet, one of the founding directors of Académie Juillet. "We engage our students, encourage discussion, and involve them in a variety of different activities throughout their school day."

A day in the life of an Académie Juillet student would include a few periods of academic activity in a classroom setting, where the teacher/student ratio is never more than 18 to 1. Students work in groups, and discussion is encouraged. Each school day also includes homework time with teacher supervision, as well as extracurricular and sports activities which could include 3 hours a week of hockey or ice skating, music, Spanish, martial arts, soccer, and young entrepreneur and young producer classes. Academie Juillet is the only primary school in the area to provide hockey training at this level.

Académie Juillet's revolutionary program is also designed to help out busy parents. The expanded school hours of 7:30 am to 6:00 pm coincide with business hours and many tasks that were typically a parent's responsibility, such as chauffeuring kids to extra-curricular activities, sports, and homework supervision, are taken care of at school. "When parents pick up their kids the only thing they have to do is make dinner and spend quality time with their kids," said Juillet.

The Académie Juillet was founded by Marylène Juillet, an elementary school teacher with 10 years experience, and Randy Belham, who has 15 years of experience in sales, and marketing. The Advisory Board includes principals, educators, coaches, financiers, and an ex-NHL player.
