Acordia, Inc. Adds to Its Risk Finance Group

CHICAGO, IL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 24, 2005 -- Acordia, Inc., a Wells Fargo Company, is pleased to announce the addition of Joan Goldberg as Senior Vice President and East Regional Practice Leader; William Holden as Senior Vice President and West Regional Practice Leader; and Barbara Brueckner, Vice President, to its Risk Finance Group (RFG). Acordia RFG specializes in the areas of directors and officers, employment practices, fiduciary liability, crime, and environmental risk identification, evaluation and solutions. In their new roles, Holden, Goldberg and Brueckner will act as an additional national resource for Acordia and Wells Fargo customers and prospects. Holden and Goldberg also will spearhead efforts to penetrate Acordia's existing client base and Wells Fargo's banking relationships for the coasts they are representing.

Goldberg has over 25 years experience with major brokers and underwriters, spending 20 of those years focused almost exclusively on the brokering of professional liability lines of insurance, with a heavy emphasis on Corporate Directors and Officers liability covers. Before joining Acordia in July, 2005 as a Senior Vice President for Acordia RFG, Goldberg was a Managing Director in Marsh's FINPRO practice. In that role, she acted as a Marsh Client Executive and Senior Client Advisor for larger accounts and was a senior member of the Financial Institutions Group National Steering Committee.

Goldberg also served as a manager of Marsh Boston's Financial Products/Professional Liability practice, National Leader of Financial Products/Professional Liability Healthcare Group and was a member of the Operational Risk Group. She has also had international experience, spending a year living and working abroad as a member of Marsh Financial Products/Professional Liability European Executive Committee. Goldberg earned a Juris Doctorate from Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans and a Bachelor of Arts from Temple University in Philadelphia.

Holden comes to Acordia from USI of Southern California Insurance Services where he served as Executive Vice President and was responsible for production, marketing, account service, and claims oversight of Directors and Officers Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Intellectual Property Insurance, Crime Insurance, Kidnap/Ransom and Extortion, Errors and Omissions, Representations and Warranties Insurance, and other related products on national and international for-profit and non-profit accounts. Holden also held positions as Senior Vice President for Aon a Vice President for RHH Financial Services Group, Vice President of the Financial Services Department at Rollins Burdick Hunter of Los Angeles.

Holden also spent 10 years with Chubb Group Insurance as Manager, Underwriting Officer, where he was responsible for managing the underwriting book in Executive Protection Department in several different branches and served as a Corporate Training Analyst and Branch Administrative, controlling expenses for a $75 million operation. Holden earned a bachelor's in English literature with a heavy emphasis in Economics at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York. He also completed the Executive Business Program at The Kellogg School of Business Management and The Wharton School of Business Management.

Brueckner comes to Acordia with over 30 years of commercial brokerage experience. She most recently served as Vice President, Management Liability for USI of Southern California Insurance Services. Prior to that she spent 19 years with Johnson & Higgins/Marsh, Inc., managing and marketing larger middle market business, where she specialized in real estate, hospitality and related account and management liability products. Brueckner gained extensive experience at handling larger, high profile real estate business from her time at Arthur J. Gallagher of California, where she also handled placement of Directors and Officers and Errors and Omissions coverage as they relate to the real estate industry. Brueckner holds a bachelor's degree from The University of California Los Angeles-UCLA. Her professional education includes ARM and CPCU.
