Active Workplace Workshop in Penticton

Reduce absenteeism, improve productivity, increase staff morale - and much, much more

BURNABY, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 22, 2007) - Numerous research studies have shown that the workplace has a powerful effect on the health of workers. Healthy workplaces positively effect organizations and individuals alike and result in benefits such as improved productivity, reduced absenteeism and turnover, higher staff morale and enhanced business reputation.

The BCRPA, through the Active Communities Initiative, has created an Active Workplace Workbook which includes tools and templates to assist governmental, not-for-profit and private sector organizations in developing the physical activity component of their overall workplace wellness initiatives. To introduce the Workbook, an Active Workplace Workshop is taking place in Penticton on Friday, February 9, 2007 from 9 am - 3 pm. The workshop will describe strategies that work, profile helpful resources and tools, introduce workplace wellness examples and more. All workshop participants receive a complementary lunch and an Active Workplace Workbook.
