Adapx Announces New Capturx Customers and Hands-On Lab at Autodesk University 2008
Capturx Software Helps Architects, Engineers, and Contractors Speed Design Updates and Improve Change Documentation Using Autodesk Applications, Microsoft® Excel, and Digital Pens
SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - December 1, 2008) - Adapx (www.adapx.com), the company that is
changing the way architects, engineers, and contractors collaborate and
collect field data, today announced new customers and Hands-On Lab sessions
at Autodesk University at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, NV. The
Hands-On Lab will be co-presented with Autodesk in two sessions on December
3 and will show attendees how Capturx for Autodesk Design Review and
Capturx forms for Microsoft® Excel can speed design review and improve
change documentation.
Deployed by leading engineering, architecture, and construction firms such
as Theiss Construction and KPFF Consulting Engineers, Capturx solutions
help teams keep projects on schedule, avoid costly mistakes and rework as
well as improve documentation of issues and changes. Capturx supports
projects designed with AutoCAD, Revit platform for Building Information
Modeling (BIM), and other Autodesk products through seamless integration
with Autodesk DWF software. Teams print or plot designs on ordinary paper
and mark them up with digital pens, leaving a physical record while also
automatically integrating redlines in the original DWF files.
Capturx Forms for Excel automates punch lists and change orders using forms
designed in Excel, ordinary paper, and digital pens. Handwritten entries on
forms from multiple team members are automatically aggregated into the
original Excel files with data matching the original Excel formatting.
Teams get a physical paper record of changes and immediate access to
digital data which can be used in Excel for reporting or integrated into
other databases, punchlisting, or backend applications.
KPFF Consulting Engineers, one of the largest engineering firms in the
U.S., is using Capturx for Autodesk Design Review to help with some of
their mixed use commercial high rise projects. Steve Voorhees, senior
engineer, said, "We're impressed with Capturx because it works the way we
do -- designs are printed on standard large format paper or regular 11X17
laser printers and then marked up with digital pens in the field. But the
real magic happens when we connect to our computers -- all of the data is
instantly digitized and seamlessly integrated into Autodesk Design Review
and Revit structures. With Capturx, our teams don't have to wait for paper
markups to be couriered, faxed, or re-keyed which means we can reduce the
number and extent of change orders as well as make faster design updates."
