Advanced Battery Technologies Approved for Listing on the American Stock Exchange

Advanced Battery Technologies' New Ticker Symbol Will Be GBT

NEW YORK, NY and HARBIN, CHINA--(Marketwire - October 3, 2007) - Advanced Battery Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: ABAT) announced today that its common shares have been approved for listing on the American Stock Exchange ("AMEX"). Advanced Battery Technologies will announce in a later release the anticipated date on which trading on the AMEX will commence. Advanced Battery Technologies designs, produces and distributes rechargeable polymer lithium-ion (PLI) batteries and battery cells.

The listing approval is contingent upon Advanced Battery Technologies being in compliance with all applicable listing standards on the date it begins trading on the Exchange, and may be rescinded if Advanced Battery Technologies is not in compliance with such standards.
