Advanced ID Ships First Product to Correias Mercurio in Brazil

CALGARY, AB--(Marketwire - April 7, 2010) -  Advanced ID Corporation (OTCBB: AIDO), a leading developer of RFID solutions for supply chain applications, fleet operations, animal tracking and tire management, announces that the company has shipped its first RFID products to Correias Mercurio in Brazil.

Correias Mercurio is Latin America's leading manufacturer of conveyor belts. These conveyor belts move material for heavy duty mining operations, sugar and alcohol plants and other critical high throughput, long distance applications. See for more information.

The conveyor belts are very expensive, travel at high speeds and rapidly self destruct if there is a tear or other problem with the conveyor belt material. Correias Mercurio initiated an RFID project to monitor the condition of the belt at all times to prevent costly repairs and minimize downtime. After nearly a year of working and testing Advanced ID products, the RFID tag has been approved for commercial deployment. Eduardo Kuhner, Advanced ID's Latin America representative, visited the Mercurio facility recently to assist in the initial product deployment.

The Advanced ID product, an RFID tag designed to be embedded in rubber, will be installed in the conveyors belts at intervals and will be read by an in line RFID reader, also provided by Advanced ID. When a conveyor belt starts to tear, an RFID tag will be destroyed, will NOT be read by the in line reader and the belt will stop before major damage can occur.

Dan Finch, Advanced ID's president, says, "We are confident that the RFID embedded conveyor belts will be greeted with enthusiasm by customers and provide a cost effective solution to the high cost of conveyor repairs and downtime. Advanced ID and Mercurio are working on a two year agreement to provide product on an exclusive basis."

Advanced ID Corporation ( provides global RFID solutions. Areas of focus include the industrial supply chain using the Company's proprietary technology for RFID tags and readers, which have been developed in cooperation with its Advanced ID Asia Engineering development partner in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
