Air Canada Pilots Hold Special Election for President

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 19, 2009) - The Air Canada Pilots Association (ACPA) today announced a special election for President of the association.

The pilots are selecting their new President by a membership vote that will conclude on Monday August 24, when results will be announced.

The new President will serve until December 31, 2010.

The election follows the decision of current President Captain Andy Wilson to return to flying as of September 30, when the new President will take office.

The President of ACPA represents Air Canada's pilots to governments and public agencies, other pilot associations and employee groups, media and a range of stakeholders.

Air Canada Pilots Association (ACPA) is the largest professional pilot group in Canada, representing the more than 3,000 pilots who operate Air Canada's mainline fleet.
