Air Products Joins CNOOC to Build China's First ASU Plant in Fujian Province, Southeast China

BEIJING--(Marketwire - June 7, 2007) - Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas). Air Products Incorporated (NYSE:APD) has formed a joint venture with CNOOC Oil Base Group, Limited, an affiliate of China National Offshore Oil Corporation-CNOOC Limited (NYSE:CEO), to build an air separation unit (ASU) and liquefier in Putian, Fujian province, to produce liquid oxygen, nitrogen and argon by using cold energy from liquefied natural gas (LNG). It is the first application of LNG cold energy at an ASU plant in China, according to information from Air Products.
