Ak-Chin Indian Community Grants Five-Year Contract Extension for Harrah's Entertainment Unit to Manage Phoenix-Area Hotel-Casino

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - December 22, 2009) - The Ak-Chin Indian Community has granted a five-year extension to a Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. subsidiary for management of the Harrah's Ak-Chin hotel-casino in Maricopa, Arizona, just south of Phoenix, Harrah's announced today. The current contract expires December 31, 2009.

"We're pleased to extend our 15-year relationship with Harrah's, whose management of Harrah's Ak-Chin has benefited our community since the resort opened in 1994, for another five years," said tribal Chairman Louis Manuel.

"We're truly excited the Ak-Chin Community has honored us with the extension of our management agreement and look forward to helping the community ensure the continued success of this resort," said Geoff Andres, Harrah's Ak-Chin general manager.

Harrah's Ak-Chin accommodates its guests with more than 1,000 slot machines, 40 poker tables and 500 bingo seats, as well as a restaurant and 148-room hotel. The facility is open 24 hours a day.
