Alain Cote, FCA, New Chair of the Ordre des comptables agrees du Quebec

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Sept. 22, 2009) - During the Annual General Meeting of the Ordre des comptables agrees du Quebec on September 12, 2009, Alain Cote, FCA, Managing Partner of the Montreal office of Samson Belair/Deloitte & Touche s.e.n.c.r.l., was appointed Chair of the Ordre. A man of action who has been involved in the Ordre's activities for several years, Alain Cote, FCA, embodies the dynamism of Quebec chartered accountants. His leadership and determination are undeniable assets for the entire profession.

A chartered accountant since 1982, Alain Cote, FCA, has close to 30 years of experience-including nearly 20 years as a partner-providing auditing and advisory services to businesses of all sizes. Over the last 20 years, he has worked primarily with Canadian, European and American financial institutions. Mr. Cote has been serving on the Board of Directors of the Ordre des comptables agrees du Quebec since 2005 and on the Executive Committee since 2007.

Alain Cote, FCA, has also participated in various mandates including public and private funding in Canada, the United States and Europe, corporate restructuring, due diligence for business and portfolio acquisitions, and reviews of internal control and risk management systems.

Having developed extensive expertise in the financial sector, he was or continues to be the lead client service partner or audit partner for clients such as the Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec, the National Bank of Canada, the Fonds de solidarite des travailleurs du Quebec (F.T.Q.), Investissement Quebec, the Societe Generale (Canada), the Societe generale de financement du Quebec, the Public Sector Pension Investment Board and the Banque Nationale de Paris-Paribas.

Alain Cote, FCA, will be assisted by the President, CEO and Secretary of the Ordre, Daniel McMahon, FCA, and by the Executive Committee made up of the following members: Manon Durivage, CA, vice-chair of the Ordre and a partner with BDO Dunwoody LLP, Jean Laflamme, CA, vice-president, Finance and Administration at GPF1 Inc., Jacques Lefebvre, ASC, public representative appointed by the Office des professions du Quebec, Serge Mallette, CA, and Helene Racine, CA, coordinator for HEC Montreal's graduate diploma in public accountancy.
