AlarmPoint Revolutionizes Real-Time Performance Reporting With Latest Version of Alert Management Platform

New Release Enables Enterprises to Drill Deeper Into Specific Events and Monitor Performance of Individual Systems, Groups and Employees in Real-Time

PLEASANTON, CA--(Marketwire - March 30, 2010) -  AlarmPoint Systems, provider of the leading Alert Management platform, today announced the immediate availability of AlarmPoint Enterprise 4.1. This version greatly enhances and extends AlarmPoint's real-time performance reporting functionality, enabling enterprises to monitor incident response times and effectiveness at the individual employee level. While most, if not all, large enterprises have a system in place to track the real-time performance of their IT systems, the ability to drill down to the individual employee level hasn't been possible until now. Version 4.1 allows enterprises to remove operational bottlenecks and refine critical business processes to improve overall productivity while making smarter, more informed hiring and staffing decisions.

"AlarmPoint's enhanced performance reporting will enable our company to measure the effectiveness of processes, staffing and teams across the enterprise. This visibility will help me optimize our coverage and processes. Our teams will be more agile, effective and responsive in the long run," said Therese Krehl, Systems Engineer, AXPO Informatik AG.

AlarmPoint's performance reporting will enable IT managers to assess the effectiveness, responsiveness and overall performance of every employee on every event in the network. This functionality will allow AlarmPoint's customers to monitor, measure and benchmark real-time statistics pertaining to the average and maximum time to respond to incidents, the quality of the response and the number of times events were escalated to more senior staff. Having this level of granularity will result in improved incident management processes and team structures, enabling better staffing, rotation and process design.

"AlarmPoint's performance reporting can give me access to information that would otherwise be impossible to capture. This information will enable us to measure the performance of our processes, our teams and our overall ability to perform," said Imran Awan, Senior Manager, Service Assurance Systems Technology, du Telecom.

Additional benefits of version 4.1 include:

  • Visibility - Identify areas where processes are slowed or require attention. Removing bottlenecks in each process lowers the cost of the incident, facilitating insight into whether an issue is being handled right away or being escalated.
  • Speed - Measure and improve the speed of a process using metrics such as time to resolve, time to escalate, time to accept an event as well as allowing a user to manually escalate an event if they are not available, eliminating wait time and accelerating resolution.
  • Accountability - Run real-time feedback reports on team performance, encouraging self-correction and improving service levels.
  • Optimization - Assess where time is spent within each critical process, enabling alignment.
  • Flexibility - Allow each supervisor to define peer to peer and peer to manager escalations for better measurement and process refinement providing multiple analysis options.

"The AlarmPoint 4.1 release is aligned squarely within the objectives announced within the BSM for Proactive Operations initiative that was shared by BMC at the Gartner Data Center Conference in December, 2009," said Roy Ritthaler, Senior Director of Product Marketing, BMC Software. "As one of a number of new enhancements and capabilities within this release, improved performance reporting provides the visibility to the right people to ensure that potentially disruptive events are addressed before there is an impact to your business."

"This latest release provides professionals with information they have not been able to capture before. Real-time and trended performance and process velocity statistics help our customers identify and resolve areas of the business that may be slowing their ability to provide services," said Troy McAlpin, CEO, AlarmPoint Systems. "As the first vendor to bring this to market, we provide our customers with an advantage in the marketplace."
