On Friday, March 19, 2010 The Alberta Bed & Breakfast Association (ABBA) officially launched their new website Not only is it easier to navigate, it's also full of great links to 130 Bed and Breakfast establishments in the province of Alberta. ABBA Marketing Director, Karen Skoretz of Tusslewood Bed and Breakfast in Calgary says the new site represents a shift in perceptions about Bed and Breakfasts in Alberta

"The mindset of travelers is changing and more people, especially younger individuals and families are choosing to stay in Bed & Breakfasts. It was important that our new website reflected the shift in consumer behavior." Skoretz

The new site, created in partnership with Travel Alberta, offers travelers more options and experiences than ever before. It features profiles of Bed & Breakfasts around the province of Alberta with direct links that will help make booking a stay easier. It also offers potential Bed & Breakfast owners excellent tips and advice to consider when starting up their own Alberta B&B

Tips on Starting a Bed and Breakfast

  • Stay at a Bed & Breakfast. You can ask the operator all kinds of questions over breakfast.
  • Check to see if any existing B&Bs are for sale. Taking over an existing business can be a lot easier, since you generally get a well established business with a regular clientele.

"The new website is built around our customers and those who dream about running their own Bed and Breakfast. It's about creating great lodging alternatives with authentic experiences that are uniquely Albertan." Skoretz
