Alexandria Appoints Charles Page to Board of Directors

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 31, 2007) - Alexandria Minerals Corporation (TSX VENTURE:AZX)(FWB:A9D) has appointed Mr. Charles Page as a director of the Company.

Mr. Page, PGeo, is the President and CEO of Queenston Mining Inc., a position he has held since 1996. He graduated in 1983 from the University of Waterloo with a master's degree in geology and a discipline in gold. He has over 30 years of mineral exploration experience both domestic and abroad and has guided Queenston's exploration success in the Abitibi district where it continues to be one of the most active juniors in the region.

"Charles brings extensive experience and knowledge with him, and will be an excellent fit to our existing team," says company President, Eric Owens. "We are fortunate to have him involved in our activities at this early stage of our company's history."

In other matters, the Company has also granted an aggregate of 1,330,000 incentive stock options exercisable at a price of $0.265, exercisable for a period of 5 years, of which 1,300,000 are to the Company's directors and officers.

Alexandria Minerals Corporation is aggressively exploring for gold in the Val d'Or gold camp of northern Quebec, intending to complete 15,000 meters of drilling in 2007. The company is currently drilling targets on and near the Cadillac-Larder Lake Break, a major fault zone which controls the location of gold deposits which have collectively produced more than 100,000,000 ounces of gold since the early 1900's.
