Alexis Prepares for Expanded Growth and Exploration With New Executive Role

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 28, 2010) - ALEXIS MINERALS CORPORATION (TSX:AMC) ("Alexis" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Jamie Lavigne, MSc, P. Geo., as Vice President Exploration. Mr. Lavigne assumes responsibility for the expanding exploration requirements of Alexis as it continues to grow, most recently through the acquisition of Garson Gold Corp. ("Garson"). His mandate will be to focus exploration over the Company's 1,050 square kilometres land package located in two of the most productive mining camps in Quebec, Val d'Or and Rouyn-Noranda and the Snow Lake Camp in Manitoba.

Mr. Lavigne has over 20 years experience in mineral exploration spanning project generation and grass roots exploration through to advanced project execution. He has worked for major and junior mining companies including FNX Mining, Cominco Ltd, and Western Mining Corporation and worked in the Mineral Deposits Division at the Geological Survey of Canada. He was Vice President Exploration at Garson Gold Corp. prior to the acquisition by Alexis. Over his career, Mr. Lavigne has developed expertise in the geology and exploration of gold and base metal deposits in Archean and Proterozoic terranes. He is a graduate of Memorial University of Newfoundland (BSc) and the University of Ottawa (MSc).

The addition of this position provides the Company's senior management team with more skill and resources to assist in effectively managing its growth. The Company's President and CEO, David Rigg, now has a broader span of management allowing him to focus on the integration of Garson into Alexis, the expected creation of two additional gold producing mines, and the exploration to increase current resources and for new mine discoveries.
