All Girls Are Fab Girls: New Book Series Helps Girls Navigate Middle School

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - October 31, 2007) - Why won't anyone sit with me at lunch? Why aren't I in the popular crowd? What can I do about "frenemies"?

These are the types of questions that cause tremendous angst for middle-school girls.

Now there's help. The publishers of Discovery Girls magazine have developed the Fab Girls Guides to help girls navigate the ups and downs of middle school.

"The same issues and questions come up over and over: 'My best friend is leaving me out.' 'I'm the only girl in school who isn't boy crazy.' 'I'm embarrassed to change in front of other girls for gym.' This made me realize that there was a definite need for tools to help girls deal with their feelings and friendship problems," says Catherine Lee, founder of Discovery Girls magazine. "The Fab Girls Guides show girls that they are not alone. We created them to help girls get through their toughest situations with confidence."

Not only are the Fab Girls Guides designed to provide girls with a solid foundation for making good decisions, but they are also helpful to parents who are working to shape their daughters into strong, confident young women.

"For parents, the Fab Girls Guides are a window into what their daughters are thinking and feeling," says Lee. "We want to give parents the resources and advice they need to help their girls face and conquer the challenges that are a part of growing up."
