Altova MapForce Brings Powerful Data Transformation Capabilities to Quark Dynamic Publishing Solution

MapForce Lends Quark the Power to Easily Translate Various Content Formats Into Different Mediums for an Automated Multi-Channel Publishing Solution

BEVERLY, MA--(Marketwire - April 28, 2010) -  Altova® (http://www.altova.com) announces the integration of Altova MapForce, its conversion and data mapping tool, with Quark® Dynamic Publishing Solution. Through Automation Services™, a component of Quark's dynamic publishing software, MapForce transformations translate XML into Web publishing formats, transform QuarkXPress® layouts for digital publishing, and convert XML to print pages, providing multi-channel publishers with a complete, automated XML-based publishing solution.

Quark's Automation Services allows users to automate their publishing process through a simple interface using predefined functions and does not require programming or scripting skills. Quark developed a tight integration of MapForce within its Automation Services to help users easily adopt a dynamic, multi-channel publishing strategy.

"Quark's Automation Services utilizes key functionality from MapForce to translate virtually any kind of content from data sources such as XML, databases, CSV, and Excel into formats that can be used in any publishing medium," said Alexander Falk, President and CEO for Altova. "Having the ability to transform and publish data to multiple channels using an automated process helps users improve productivity and cut costs. Furthermore, MapForce lets users not only access data in formats that were previously difficult to integrate into their publishing process, but also automate the transformation of this data into a more usable format."

"The integration of Altova MapForce into Quark Dynamic Publishing Solution gives multi-channel publishers a variety of options for working with content across multiple channels," said PG Bartlett, Quark's Senior Vice President of Product Management. "MapForce, with its intuitive user interface, helps our customers cut costs and time to implement automation by up to 80 percent."

MapForce, Altova's powerful any-to-any data integration tool, uses a sophisticated and intuitive drag-and-drop mapping interface that allows users to graphically design complex mapping and conversion projects that can be translated between various data formats. The data can be rendered instantly for viewing, while allowing users to save results for future and recurrent transformations. With the recent release of MapForce Version 2010 Release 2, several features have been added including a new 64-bit version, further extending the tool's power and flexibility.
