American Airlines Establishes Direct Connect with Farelogix FLX Platform

MIAMI, FLORIDA--(CCNMatthews - May 24, 2006) -

Technology to provide cost-effective alternative to traditional access for travel service providers

Farelogix Inc. today announced that it has signed a distribution agreement to provide a direct connection to American Airlines content via the Farelogix FLX™ Platform. The direct connect will be made to American's host reservation systems, providing American with a cost-effective way to distribute content direct to travel agencies, corporate travel management companies, online travel sites and other businesses offering travel services. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

As part of the agreement, American will also be implementing the Farelogix Distribution Manager - a sophisticated business rules engine - to flexibly and dynamically control the sourcing of travel content at the individual itinerary level. The connectivity between the FLX Platform, Farelogix Distribution Manager and American's reservation systems is currently under way, and scheduled for completion in summer 2006.

"We are very excited about the Farelogix model," said David Cush, senior vice president - global sales at American Airlines. "Farelogix provides us with scalable technology to distribute our content through channels in a economical manner, while at the same time giving agencies and other travel services providers another source from which they can access all American Airlines fare content - an important attribute as we move forward toward our goal of reducing our distribution costs."

The FLX Platform insulates travel agencies from changing industry dynamics while simultaneously "bridging" the gaps with existing legacy processes, systems, and/or components. The product's proprietary sourcing, searching, and business rules technology enables flexible sourcing, shopping, booking, and data management across multiple, yet integrated sources, while its plug and play architecture is highly scalable and can easily be integrated on various agency and corporate point-of-sale applications. Users of the FLX Platform have the flexibility to source their segments directly to American or to a preferred GDS.

"Providing a direct connection from the FLX Platform to the world's largest airline reinforces the value we bring to the travel industry in integrating existing travel processes and tools with the latest in distribution technology," said Jim Davidson, president and CEO of Farelogix. "The travel content market is highly fragmented, but by working with travel suppliers such as American, we are one step closer to providing a single source solution to meet the evolving needs of the market."
