America's Perfect Pairing of Champagne and Barbeque Adds a Splash of "BAM" at the 2010 Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival

Emeril Lagasse Hosts the Perrier-Jouët BubbleQ on Friday, February 26, 2010

MIAMI BEACH, FL--(Marketwire - January 12, 2010) - The Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival has hosted America's perfect pairing of champagne and barbeque since its inception in 2002 but Festival Founder and Director Lee Brian Schrager is kicking it up a notch for 2010, adding superstar chef Emeril Lagasse as the host of this year's Perrier-Jouët BubbleQ presented by Allen Brothers.

"I am very excited to be hosting the BubbleQ in South Beach this year," says Lagasse. "This will be my seventh straight year attending the Festival, but my first time hosting the BubbleQ, and you can bet we're going to be kicking it up a few notches on the beach!"

On Friday, February 26, 2010 a selection of America's finest barbeque chefs will gather on the white sands of the Delano hotel's private beach to serve up their best recipes of juicy grilled meats and succulent seafood. A taste of the action includes Chris Lilly's 8-time world championship pulled pork with spicy crisp southern mustard coleslaw, Aaron Sanchez's pork belly tacos with cactus pickled red onion salad and chili habanero rub, Todd English's grilled lobster roll, Kenny Callaghan's slow smoked baby back ribs with tangy sesame coleslaw, and much more!

The mix of spicy, sweet and savory flavors will be accented by free-flowing Perrier-Jouët Champagne and Graffigna wines from Argentina. The pairing of Champagne and barbeque is taken to a whole other level with a custom-created Perrier-Jouët Champagne sorbetto, produced especially for this year's event by the talented team at eCreamery from Omaha, Nebraska. Decadence is decanted in the Godiva Chocolatier lounge, where Chef Chocolatier David Funaro will be preparing Chocolate Sin by Godiva.

Lagasse was honored at the 2009 Festival's Tribute Dinner, a celebration complete with a portrait from Romero Britto and the Central Miami High School Marching Band playing "When The Saints Go Marching In" as a tribute to Lagasse's roots in New Orleans, LA. Emcee Martha Stewart and chefs Bobby Flay, Mario Batali, Charlie Trotter, Eric Ripert, Norman Van Aken, Thomas Buckley, and Gordon Maybury were all in attendance to pay tribute to Lagasse's many professional achievements.
