Andean American Welcomes Juan Zegarra Wuest to Advisory Board

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 17, 2007) - Andean American Mining Corp. (TSX VENTURE:AAG)(FWB:AQN) is pleased to announce the addition of Mining Engineer Juan G. Zegarra Wuest D.I.C. Eng. to the advisory board of the company. Zegarra, a Master of Science graduate of London's Royal School of Mines and a member of the Imperial College, brings a wealth of experience, professional depth and hands on abilities to Andean's Operations and Development projects.

Key Experience:

Forty years experience in mineral processing industry, participating and leading projects development from conceptual design up to industrial plants operations, through: laboratory and pilot testing, industrial plant design, engineering and operations management.

Process design for treating ores, concentrates and intermediate products in mills, have been successfully carried out including application of mineral processing methods for intermediate products of smelters and refineries and metals. Important skill on minerals recovery by flotation using non conventional method including flotation of natural floatable mineral with favorable results in down stream flotation : increasing grade and recovery.

Design, installation and start up of several hydraulic mine backfill projects using classified tailings up to start up. Mining Operations evaluations and metallurgical studies in Peru, Mexico and Colombia: Due diligence studies for privatization of various Peruvian mining units were carried out: Casapalca, Mahr Tunnel-San Cristobal, Cerro de Pasco and Cobriza; similar studies were carried out in Bolivian tin and silver mines: Huanuni, Colquiri and Cerro Rico (PLAHIPO).

Permanent and continuous interaction with U.S.A. consulting groups, International Cooperation Agencies and foreign institutions subscribing and executing contracts for mining projects development in Peru and introduction of new technologies: bacterial leaching, remote sensing and satellite images analysis, explorations for gold deposits in Peruvian, Bolivian and Argentinean boundaries with US Geological Services.
