Aptara Appoints David Townsend to Lead Data Collections and Computer Forensics for Litigation Services Division

FALLS CHURCH, VA--(Marketwire - May 30, 2007) - Aptara, Inc., a global leader in integrated content transformation solutions, announced today that it has appointed David Townsend as Director of Data Collections and Computer Forensics. Townsend is a recognized authority on computer forensics and brings more than 20 years of cyber crime, police and investigation experience to the Aptara Litigation Services team.

Leading the team, Townsend oversees the forensics process to ensure that all data collected is authenticated and usable in court. The team provides the data to Aptara's Central Process Center (CPC) where it is examined, deduplicated and authenticated by a highly qualified staff. The CPC is a global resource that links the worldwide Aptara offices and provides a centralized approach to processing data. In addition to overseeing data processing, Townsend has expanded the team globally to offer in-house trained forensics and collection experts in India. Litigation Services has also expanded its international capabilities to be able to capture and collect for double byte characters as found in the Japanese and Chinese languages.

Townsend is a former member of the FBI REACT Task Force. He has served as an expert forensic witness on high profile cases including trials for Michael Jackson, Scott Peterson and John Mark Karr. He is also a member of the California Association of Licensed Investigators, the American Bar Association and the International Association for Counterterrorism and Security Professionals.
