Arizona Marketing Firm Off Madison Ave Takes Leadership Role at Major Industry Conferences

Agency Recognized for Marketing and Public Relations Expertise at Events in Puerto Rico, New York, Indianapolis and Miami

PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwire - November 7, 2007) - The senior management team at Off Madison Ave, a full-service marketing communications firm, recently led a number of presentations and panel discussions at industry conferences and also returned with new insights, colleagues, best practices and rewarding feedback from their experiences. The Phoenix marketing and public relations firm's co-founder and managing partner David Anderson was selected to speak on an executive panel at the Bulldog Reporter's Public Relations Agency Management Summit in New York City, while co-founder and executive creative director Roger Hurni was chosen as a keynote presenter at a Worldcom Public Relations Group regional conference in Puerto Rico.

"We have had many worthwhile and productive experiences by being active in our professional associations, sharing best practices and case studies and attending the various public relations and marketing conferences that are held around the country and beyond," said Anderson. "Since our clients' businesses stretch beyond the boundaries of the Valley, these prestigious events help keep us ahead of the industry curve in assessing new media trends and client success stories in other markets that we aren't connected with on a regular basis."

The Bulldog Reporter conference that Anderson attended examined changes, challenges and new opportunities the public relations industry is facing in today's ever-diversifying marketing climate. He spoke on a panel with other agency principals regarding agency acquisitions; other topics included assessing agency profits, building a management team and determining the role of new public relations technologies on an agency's service menu.

Before an audience of nearly 200 members of the public relations and marketing community of Puerto Rico, Hurni spoke about the impact of social media programs, consumer-generated media and the compelling ways in which new advertising methods are influencing target audiences. He outlined how agencies have turned to changing revenue models and how brand management no longer falls under the total control of a company, as more consumers are constantly engaged in spreading messages, interacting with brands via so many different channels -- from blogging to posting videos to customer brand management through product engagement.

"It was very beneficial to meet new colleagues and exchange some of the best practices and effective interactive tactics, such as search engine optimization of press releases and advanced link-building via blogs and news stories," said Hurni, the 2007 Phoenix Ad Person of the Year. "I compiled a presentation of some of my favorite ads over the year to demonstrate the fundamental shift our industry has faced, and it was really enjoyable to share my opinions with and learn a different perspective from peers who work in such a different environment and culture."

In addition to the agency's principals, other members of the management team were involved in recent major marketing communications events. Jason Baer, senior director of marketing and media at Off Madison Ave, presented a case study on the agency's Claire Burke email program as part of a panel called "Extreme Email Makeover" at the ExactTarget "Connections 2007" User Conference in Indianapolis. Baer was named a member of a new ExactTarget advisory panel, while the firm was named one of three finalists for the ExactTarget Agency Partner of the Year award. Coldstone Creamery won "Best Email Campaign of the Year" for a program that the agency helped establish.

Vice president and director of public relations Laura Hall attended the annual Worldcom Public Relations Group Americas Region conference in Miami, attended by partner agencies from North America, Central America, South America, Rome, London and Bangkok, and she presented the agency's management standards and best practices before a peer review panel. The agency received the highest score ever, and the consortium recommended several of the firm's procedures be adopted as best practices by its other partners. Off Madison Ave is the only Arizona member of the Worldcom Public Relations Group, the world's largest consortium of independently owned public relations counseling firms.

"Our public relations group pulled together a comprehensive anthology of our agency services, public relations tactics, media coverage metrics and client feedback mechanisms," said Hall, who was re-elected to the Worldcom board of directors for her fourth consecutive one-year term. "It was an honor to receive one of the highest total scores ever, and we were fortunate to be given the opportunity to share our recent client results and successes with our global partners."

Hall also led the Worldcom partners in an issues management panel and delivered a crisis communications case study that showed how Off Madison Ave recently solved a crisis communications situation for an industry-leading consumer packaged goods distributor through investigative best practices to uncover a disgruntled employee posing as a national journalist, foiling the ruse to the client's satisfaction.
