Asia Now Samples Up to 2.96 g/t Gold, 242 g/t Silver, 0.94% Molybdenum, 9.96% Copper in Tunnels at Habo

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 7, 2008) - Asia Now Resources Corp. (TSX VENTURE:NOW) is pleased to release assay results for samples from tunnels in a recent geological mapping program covering a new area of the porphyry copper-gold-molybdenum mineralization systems at its Habo property in Yunnan Province, China. The results further confirm the presence of widespread mineralization with local high grade zones, potentially amenable to large-scale open-pit mining. Kaihui Yang, Asia Now's President, says, "We have always been very confident in the Habo property, and these results are proof of its potential."

A total of 120 chip grab samples were collected from outcrops and 6 tunnels in an area of over 40 square kilometres. All the samples are mineralized with most containing low grade copper mineralization (0.1 to 0.6% copper), but the samples from old tunnels have high grade mineralization, as highlighted below:

Tunnel Gold Silver Molybdenum Copper Lead Zinc
No. (g/t) (g/t) % % % %
LPD1 0.81 108.0 0.01 0.44 10.20 9.42
LPD2 2.96 44.7 0.94 0.25 3.21 9.23
LPD3 1.31 183.0 0.86 0.67 1.18 0.25
LPD4 0.53 242.3 0.10 9.96 0.71 0.28
LPD5 0.27 90.7 0.18 8.87 0.18 0.18
LPD6 0.26 73.5 0.02 5.85 0.35 0.48

Further work is under way to systematically log and to channel-sample the old tunnels. They are located within the porphyries or on the marginal contact zones of the porphyries at North Habo, where a large copper-molybdenum anomaly has not been drilled yet. Skarn-related mineralization has been found in some of the tunnels. The assay results for the channel samples from the tunnels are expected within two to three weeks.

Sampling the mineralized outcrops is part of a surface mapping program that is being carried during this dry season to investigate the alteration and mineralization zones of the known porphyry copper-gold-molybdenum system and potential new mineralization systems at the Habo property. This work will help target drill sites for completion in 2008.

In November, Dr. Anthony Harris, an Australian consultant specializing in porphyry copper deposits, was contracted to work with our field geologists, to review existing drill cores and assess the potential for high grade mineralization zones in the Habo porphyry copper property. The conclusion of his report is extremely positive and states that the existing drillholes have probably only touched the marginal part of a large porphyry mineralization system at South Habo. He also believes there are potentially multiple porphyry systems in the Habo property. The sampling report outlined herein supports this theory.

The Habo Project involves a cooperative joint venture with Yunnan Geology and Mineral Resources Company Limited called Yunnan Now Mineral Exploration Company Limited. It covers an area of 162 sq. kilometres, in which Asia Now can earn an interest of between 70% and 88%.

Chip samples, each between 1 to 4 kilograms, was assayed using aqua regia digestion with AAS determination for gold, and hydrochloric/perchloric (HCl/HClO4) digestion with ICP-MS determination for copper, molybdenum, silver, zinc, lead and others (a total of 35 elements). For samples with Cu grade higher than 1%, a four acid (HCl/HNO3/HClO4/HF) digestion method and AAS determination were applied. All the assays were completed at Intertek Laboratory in Beijing in accordance with international standard ISO17025. To maintain independent quality control on the laboratory, duplicate samples are submitted from 5% of sample sites, and replicate samples are submitted for 3% of samples. In addition the laboratories use an extensive range of internal standards. External check assays are routinely performed on check samples submitted independently by the Company to Ultra Trace Analytical Laboratories, Canning Vale, Western Australia.

Quality control and assurance programs are implemented in line with the standards of National Instrument 43-101, as described the independent 43-101 report filed on Exploration and financial controls are implemented in each of the company's exploration projects in China, as published on the website of the Company, Exploration on all of the Company's projects is conducted under the direction of Dr. Noel C. White, a director and consultant to the Company and a Qualified Person as defined under National Instrument 43-101. Dr. White has read and approved this news release. Disclosure on mineralization on adjacent properties has not been verified by Dr. White and is not necessarily indicative of the Company's anticipated results. Where provided, potential quantity and grade is conceptual in nature as the Company has not conducted sufficient exploration to define a mineral resource and it is uncertain if further exploration will result in the target being delineated as a mineral resource.
