Asoka Successfully Completes TR-069 Interoperability Testing Through MotiveSmart Verification Program

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - December 1, 2009) - Asoka® USA Corporation, a leading Powerline Communications (PLC) network solutions provider, today announced that its PlugLink® HD AV Adapter has passed interoperability tests with Alcatel-Lucent's Motive Home Device Manager product for remote management of Powerline HD AV adapters by broadband service providers. With this interoperability assurance, service providers using Motive's industry-leading software can remotely activate, configure and maintain the PlugLink® HD AV Adapter from Asoka to streamline the delivery of quad-play voice, video and data services.

The testing was completed under the MotiveSmart™ Verification Program, which evaluates CPE for compliance with a variety of industry standards including the Broadband Forum's TR-069 WAN Management protocol for remote management. Benefits of the interoperability between Motive and Asoka for carriers include faster deployment and troubleshooting of CPE networks that use the PlugLink HD AV Adapter from Asoka. Benefits for consumers include the elimination of most manual interaction with the PlugLink HD AV Adapter through capabilities such as zero-touch device configuration, auto provisioning of new services and automated device upgrades.

"We are pleased to welcome Asoka to our MotiveSmart Verification Program," said Bryce Judd, VP, Business Operations and Partnerships, Motive. "Solutions such as Asoka's powerline networking products are pivotal to service providers' ability to roll out next-generation triple-play services. "Remote device management is essential for outfitting the digital home, and The Motive Product Division of Alcatel-Lucent has established a leadership position in the space," said David Hubbard, CEO, Asoka. "This interoperability gives our customers a best-in-class solution for automating the management of our devices as well as other equipment that is critical to delivering today's new broadband-based entertainment and information services, including Voice over IP, online gaming and HD video on demand."

Exceeding the TR-069 mandatory requirements, the PlugLink HD AV Adapter from Asoka makes it quicker and easier than ever to set up a home network using existing electrical outlets.
