Audio Video Systems and ITT Team Up to Create Job Program

CHANTILLY, VA--(Marketwire - October 21, 2009) - Audio Video Systems, Inc. (AVS), a fast growing audiovisual (AV) design, engineering and systems integration firm, will begin sponsoring a Job Shadowing program in conjunction with the Chantilly, VA campus of ITT Technical Institute. The program will allow graduating ITT students who are exploring career options to experience the audiovisual (AV) Industry by shadowing an AVS employee and get a good understanding of the type of work AVS does daily.

"AVS is looking forward to introducing upcoming graduates from ITT Technical Institute to the audiovisual world," says Barry Goldin, CTS, director of systems integration at AVS. "It will allow students to expand upon what they have learned at ITT, learn about career paths and trends in the field, and see audiovisual technologies in action."

The program will occur four times per year (during the last 4-6 weeks of the students' final semester) and students would be selected based upon recommendation by ITT staff and selection by AVS.

"ITT Technical Institute in Chantilly, Virginia is excited to be partnering with AVS through the Job Shadowing program for our students majoring in the Technology and Design fields," says Deborah Brent, college director. "Our students will have the benefit of gaining first-hand experience of employer expectations and the level of creative excellence expected in career positions within the audiovisual industry."

To start off the new partnership, AVS is conducting a presentation to introduce students to the AV Industry and the exciting work that AVS is doing every day. The presentation will held on Wednesday, October 21, from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M on the ITT Technical Institutes' Chantilly campus. The presentation will take place in one of their classrooms and approximately 50 students that are in the final phase of their Associates' degree programs are expected to attend.

The presentation is a part of AV Week, an annual international celebration of the AV industry.

AV Week is an international celebration of the AV industry. The AV trade association InfoComm International and its members sponsor workshops, presentations, career fairs and other events around the globe to spotlight the audiovisual industry that enhances communications in many vertical markets and to recognize the AV professionals who manufacture, design and install AV technology in fixed installations and for staged events.
