Aurogin Confirms Significant Gold Mineralization at El Arenal Zone

Positive Drill Results to Form New Mineral Resource Estimate

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 22, 2007) - Aurogin Resources Ltd. ("Aurogin" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:AUQ) is pleased to provide results of the recently completed drill program at its El Arenal Zone in Guatemala. A total of eleven holes were drilled covering an area approximately 500 metres ("m") by 100 m. Mineralization of sizeable thickness and grade was intersected in ten of the eleven drill holes with hole five (AR-06-05) intersecting 23 m grading 1.59 grams per tonne gold ("g/t Au"). (See table below).

Neil Gow, Vice President, Exploration said, "We are very pleased with these latest results because they confirm and extend the previous testing by Radius and Goldfields. Using this data, Aurogin intends to prepare a National Instrument (NI) 43-101 compliant mineral resource estimate for the El Arenal Zone as soon as possible. We also believe that the El Arenal Zone is only one of a number of interesting exploration targets on the El Sastre Exploitation Licence." Neil Gow (P.Geo.) is the Qualified Person under NI 43-101 standards on this Project.

The El Arenal Zone is located approximately 2 km South-East of the Company's El Sastre Main Zone Gold Mine and falls within the current El Sastre Exploitation License. Previous exploration by Radius Explorations Ltd. ("Radius") and Goldfields Ltd. ("Goldfields") included 21 trenches with an average mineralized grade of 1.65 g/t Au. A four-hole reverse circulation drill program returned values of 1.02 g/t Au over 10.7 m and thick sequences (up to 110 m) of anomalous gold values (0.1 g/t Au to 1.7 g/t Au). Soil geochemistry suggested the El Arenal Zone may be delimited to the north but is considered likely to be contiguous with the Escondida Zone to the west.

As previously reported (see March 8, 2006 Press Release), metallurgical testing by SGS Lakefield Research Ltd. on a composite sample from the El Arenal Zone demonstrated gold recoveries in excess of 98% after 14 days. Gold mineralization on the El Arenal Zone is fine-grained and similar metallurgically, to the El Sastre Main Zone.

The El Sastre Exploitation License covers a large land package which includes the El Arenal and Escondida zones in addition to the currently producing El Sastre Main Zone gold mine. The Company has identified a number of other exploration targets within this area, which it intends to examine during 2007.

Aurogin Resources Ltd. is a junior gold producer focused on the acquisition and development of profitable gold deposits in the Americas. In 2006, Aurogin completed the construction and commissioning of the El Sastre Main Zone Mine. The El Sastre Main Zone is only one part of the overall El Sastre Project, an expanding resource that includes at least four mineralized zones. In addition to the ongoing mining program, the Company, which is debt free, anticipates funding its 2007 exploration program out of free cash flow generated from the El Sastre Main Zone gold mine.
