Aurora Feint Unveils Brand New Free Title for Holidays With Level Unlocking and Virtual Goods

Code Named "VSL" Game Has Been in Secret Development for Months and Will Showcase Use of Latest In-App Purchase System From Apple and New Release of OpenFeint With Store Kit Features

BURLINGAME, CA--(Marketwire - October 21, 2009) - Aurora Feint Inc., developer of the first RPG hit title for the iPhone and the first social gaming platform for the iPhone, announced that it has been secretly working on a casual, multi-player game with "level unlocking and virtual goods packs" that will leverage the recently announced Apple in-app purchase system. Unlocking multiple levels and associated virtual goods packs with one purchase will eliminate the need to do lots of micro-transactions with each virtual item that might be needed in the game. The game will be launched in December and more details on the game will be made available in November.

The game, code named VSL, has been in development for several months and will focus heavily on level progression that unlocks virtual goods for character personalization and achievement progression. Levels and virtual goods content will be continually added in the game extending the longevity of the game and providing players the opportunity to choose the length of engagement in the game. Players will be able to unlock the levels and virtual good packs by spending time on the game play, or by using the in-app purchase feature to purchase new levels if they so choose.

"We have been inundated all year with questions on when Aurora Feint will release a new game," said Jason Citron co-founder of Aurora Feint. "We love building games and we've been anticipating the Apple in-app purchase ability from within free apps, and now that it is official we are delighted to unveil our stealth project: and of course it will be a free title."

Included in the game will be a brand new release of OpenFeint which will be available to all developers in November. OpenFeint 2.4 in November will support a store-kit to allow developers to integrate OpenFeint achievements into the upgrade process from free title to paid title.

"OpenFeint continues to lead the industry with innovative features so game developers can focus on building their games," said Peter Relan Chairman of Aurora Feint. "Both the 'free-to-buy upgrade model' and the 'level unlocking purchase model' will now be supported by OpenFeint."
