LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - November 20, 2008) - Visitors to the Auto Club exhibit at the Los Angeles Auto Show will be treated to both automotive speed and safety with DUI demonstrations by the California Highway Patrol, NASCAR racing simulators and a display of the newly unveiled Auto Club-sponsored Dodge Charger that will compete in the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and the Auto Club-sponsored Ford Mustang Nitro Funny Car driven by Robert Hight to three wins on the 2008 NHRA national tour.

Starting Friday, November 21, Auto Show guests can view the 330-mph Hight Funny Car that captured top eliminator honors at the Winternationals in Pomona, CA, the Fram Autolite Nationals in Sonoma, CA and the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, in addition to the 180-mph Dodge that will be piloted by Penske Racing's Sam Hornish, Jr. at the 2009 NASCAR Auto Club 500 in February.

Guests can also register to win a pair of reserved grandstand seats to the Auto Club 500 and meet with representatives from Auto Club Speedway who will distribute information about special NASCAR ticket packages available for the upcoming year.

Hight, the 2005 NHRA Rookie of the Year and No. 4 in the 2008 NHRA Funny Car Championship, and 14-time NHRA Funny Car Champion John Force -- the winningest driver in NHRA history -- are scheduled to visit the Auto Club booth in Kentia Hall on Monday, November 24 from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. to meet fans and sign autographs.

Officers from the California Highway Patrol will join the Auto Club throughout the show to provide information about child car seat safety and demonstrate the feeling of driving impaired with its Fatal Vision Goggles. By wearing the goggles, adults can get the feeling of driving impaired without getting behind the wheel.
