Aventail Launches Worldwide Customer Training Program for SSL VPN; UK Distributor Sphinx Becomes 1st Partner to Showcase the Program

Overwhelming Success in North America and Increasing Customer Interest Creates Demand for Worldwide Availability

SEATTLE, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 29, 2006 -- With the overwhelming success of Aventail's customer training program in North America, today leading SSL VPN provider Aventail launched the worldwide availability of its customer training programs with Sphinx, one of the UK's leading independent IT distributors and Aventail's distributor in the North European region. The training program offers customers an opportunity to optimize their knowledge of how to successfully secure the remote access needs of their company. More information on the program can be found at www.aventail.com/products/training.

"We created this training program because customers were looking for more detailed information on advanced features for added security and end user ease-of-use, as well as how to accelerate the ROI for their Aventail solution," said Chris Manly, training manager at Aventail. "We launched the North America program in January 2006, and we have seen our classes fill up two to three months in advance. With so many customers coming from overseas, it was a natural progression to offer it internationally."

About the Customer Program

Using feedback from customers and partners, Aventail designed its training program to address customers' interests and security needs. Customers are instructed by certified experts and experience hands-on lab training to learn how to solve real-world problems. Each course is designed as a three-day session with lectures, demonstrations, videos and exercises. The information provided includes: the administration and management of the Aventail SSL VPN appliance; enabling secure access from Windows, Mac, Linux, Windows Mobile and other mobile devices; secure authentication and appropriate End Point Control requirements; customization of the portal; and troubleshooting. It also gives participants a checklist of security best practices.

"We are proud to offer Aventail's customer training program to our UK customers," said Mark Hatton, Managing Director, Sphinx. "Already we have 20 customers signed up to take classes in Nottingham and Maidenhead. We look forward to partnering together on this effort."

Sphinx will be begin offering classes after September 1, 2006 and are taking sign-ups now. Information on class schedules can be found at www.sphinx.co.uk/training.
