Axis Technologies Announces Collaboration With Sunwave Lighting to Promote Energy Saving Advantages of Daylight Harvesting

Study Shows Benefits of "Daylighting" on Occupant Productivity and Enhanced Retail Sales

LINCOLN, NE--(Marketwire - January 8, 2008) - Axis Technologies Group, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: AXTG) announced today that Sunwave Lighting ( of Boulder, CO is collaborating with the company on promoting the benefits of utilizing daylight versus artificial lighting whenever possible. The company's Dimming/Daylight Harvesting (DDH) ballasts provide more benefits than simply saving energy when installed where natural light is present. Sunwave Lighting has long advocated the benefits of utilizing windows, skylights, light shelves, and other "daylighting" technology, retail sales and better school test performance are enhanced. By incorporating daylight harvesting in building design in tandem with Axis' DDH ballasts, companies and schools can realize both energy savings and very real performance and revenue increases.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company sponsored the study published by the Heschong Mahone Group. In their Daylighting and Productivity Study in three school districts -- Capistrano, CA, Fort Collins, CO and Seattle, WA -- the results showed students progressed 20% faster in math tests and 26% on reading tests than students in classrooms with no daylight.

This study also considered the impact of daylighting on retail sales. Sales performance data from 108 stores operated by a chain retailer were analyzed. The design and operation of the stores was nearly identical with the exception of skylights in two-thirds of the stores. The addition of skylights boosted sales by close to 40% over those stores without skylights. The added benefit of up to 70% energy savings can be achieved during daylight hours when Axis DDH ballasts are utilized.

About the Axis Technologies Ballast

Axis Technologies Group, Inc. has developed an innovative new ballast, an electronic component that regulates voltage in fluorescent lighting that focuses on expanding daylight harvesting into mainstream fluorescent lighting applications. The patented Axis Dimming/Daylight Harvesting Ballast is a new technology that transforms the ballast, a once standard lighting industry staple, into a dynamic energy-saving system that can reduce lighting energy costs by up to 70%. The Axis DDH Ballast utilizes an individual photo sensor to automatically adjust the amount of electrical current flowing to the light fixture, and then dims or increases lighting in conjunction with the amount of available sunlight that may be harvested from available windows and sunlight. The Axis DDH Ballast avoids "over-lit" conditions that increase energy costs by keeping lighting "tuned" to the desired level in a designated area.
