BMO Sponsors Ninth Edition of Spotlight Benefitting Fife House for 2010

BMO Sponsorship Represents Its Sixth Consecutive Year of Partnership in Support of Housing for People With HIV/AIDS

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 23, 2010) - Spotlight, an annual fundraising event that supports the Fife House team's efforts to provide affordable housing and support services to those living with HIV/AIDS in Toronto, will be held on September 30, 2010 and BMO Financial Group is the title sponsor.

The event, under the theme 'Spotlight Unplugged. Up Close and Personal,' will be held at the historical Berkeley Church on Queen Street East. The evening will include a cocktail reception, silent auction and musical performances by recognized singers and musicians.

"We are thrilled that Bank of Montreal has been a generous and ongoing partner of this important cause and shown inspiring stewardship in the fight against HIV/AIDS for a sixth consecutive year," said Ellen Smith, Spotlight Committee Chair. "Access to resources, especially affordable housing, helps individuals and families reclaim control over their lives and health by improving their standard of living."

It is estimated that over 18,000 people in Toronto are living with HIV/AIDS. Fife House provides 80 per cent of the front-line housing and support services, in the city, to people with HIV/AIDS. The charitable organization's Homeless Outreach, Transitional Housing and Community programs are designed to address immediate needs so that those at risk of becoming homeless and those facing social marginalization are able to maintain social integration, health and social wellbeing through suitable permanent housing.

"We are very proud to once again be the title sponsor of Spotlight and assist Fife House in raising the much-needed funds required to carry out their housing programs," says Nada Ristich, Senior Manager Corporate Donations BMO Financial Group.

Tickets will be going on sale August 23rd. Donations and ticking inquiries can be placed by contacting 416-205-9888 or by visiting the Spotlight website: Last year, Spotlight raised $75,000 and this year the goal is $100,000. Now in its ninth production, Spotlight has been growing year after year and is sure to be one of the hot tickets for Toronto in 2010.

About Spotlight

Started in 1999, Spotlight is a fundraising campaign that supports the Fife House mission to provide affordable housing to people living with HIV/AIDS in Toronto. Originally called Rhythms For Life, the fundraiser has traditionally involved community-based talent and silent auctions to bring support to persons living with HIV/AIDS. Spotlight has been part of Fife House fundraising events and tie-ins such as 'Taste For Life' and 'Performers For Life'. As Spotlight evolves it continues to be a corner stone event that benefits Fife House through the performing and fine arts.
