BTIG Names Kenneth J. Savio Senior Managing Director and Co-Head of Global Equities

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - August 4, 2008) - BTIG LLC, a broker dealer specializing in equity trading and brokerage services has appointed Kenneth J. Savio as a senior managing director and co-head of global equities.

Savio comes to BTIG after a distinguished 20 plus year career at Bear Stearns where he served as senior managing director and co-head of global trading and sales trading prior to the investment bank's sale to JP Morgan.

"Ken brings significant senior buy side relationships and extensive risk management experience to BTIG," said Steve Starker, managing partner of BTIG. "The addition of Ken Savio to our team is indicative of BTIG's continued growth."

Savio will be based at BTIG's New York offices. He will work alongside current Co-Heads of Equities Richard Blank and James Aniello. Savio will report to managing partners Steve Starker and Scott Kovalik.

In more than two decades with Bear Stearns Mr. Savio held significant leadership positions with widely expanding responsibilities. From 1991-2000 as Managing Director and later Senior Managing Director, Ken was Head of Convertible Securities; From 2000-2005 he was Head of U.S. Trading and Sales Trading; From 2005-2008 as Senior Managing Director he was Co-Head of Global Trading and Sales Trading, managing a global staff of 300 generating revenues of $1 billion in 2007, while increasing U.S. cash trading market share by nearly 26 percent and global cash trading market share by more than 33 percent.

In his capacity with the firm, Ken also was Chairman of Bear Stearns Best Execution Committee and responsible for Bear Wagner Specialist business and spearheaded the firm's spot second equity business.

Mr. Savio earned a BA in Political Science and MBA in Finance from Fordham University. The 48-year-old Savio resides in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Founded in 2002 BTIG has grown steadily from 5 employees to approximately 175 today. BTIG serves nearly 1,000 institutional customers and offers services from four divisions: Institutional Trading, Prime Brokerage, Outsource trading and Direct Market Access.
