It's Eight Straight Years at No. 1 for Bain; Stroud Consulting Is "Best Small Firm to Work For"

NEWARK, NJ--(Marketwire - August 25, 2010) -  Another year, another top ranking for Bain & Company in Consulting magazine's annual "Best Firms to Work For" survey. The complete survey findings are published in the September/October issue of Consulting magazine.

"Bain's run of eight straight years is simply amazing. Year over year, the firm continues to impress, whether it's in good or bad economic times, Bain's scores in all categories remain incredibly consistent," says Consulting's Editor-in-Chief Joseph Kornik. "Clearly, Bain is a great place to work."

Plenty right, according to Bain's own employees. On the survey, consultants were asked questions about everything from retention rates and morale at their firms to training and vacation policies. Firms on both lists were ranked on six categories: The Job, Compensation and Benefits, Work/Life Balance, Leadership, Career Development and Culture, and were ranked based on a cumulative total from all categories.

The 2010 "Best Firms to Work For" list includes (in alphabetical order): Accenture, A.T. Kearney, Bain & Company, Booz Allen Hamilton, Booz & Company, The Boston Consulting Group, Capco, Deloitte Consulting, McKinsey & Company, Milliman, North Highland, Point B, PricewaterhouseCoopers, PRTM and Slalom Consulting.

Meanwhile, "The Best Small Firm to Work For" was Stroud Consulting, a 70-person operation firm with offices in Marblehead, Mass., and London.
