BakBone Announces Support for Novell Open Enterprise
Server; BakBone Continues to Drive Enterprise-Level
Support for Linux in the Data Center

BOSTON--(CCNMatthews - Feb 15, 2005) -

BakBone Software (TSX:BKB) (OTCBB:BKBOE) today announced support for
Novell Inc.'s (NASDAQ:NOVL) Open Enterprise Server platform across its
NetVault data protection software product line.

Combining both the NetWare and SUSE LINUX platforms, Novell Open
Enterprise Server is the first product to integrate the choice and
flexibility of open source software with the power and reliability of
proven networking software. With comprehensive backup and recovery
support for both NetWare and SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 available
today, BakBone's commitment to Novell's Open Enterprise Server offers
customers a single source for data protection across mixed storage
networks that seamlessly scales to meet the demands of any size
environment. In addition to backing up to a locally-attached disk drive
or tape device, or across a NAS or SAN environment running SUSE LINUX,
NetVault provides comprehensive disaster recovery options on Linux to
ensure that data can be recovered quickly and efficiently.

"As Linux continues to make in-roads in mission-critical enterprise
computing environments worldwide, we're pleased to be working with
BakBone to deliver our customers secure, highly available networking and
application services in an open environment," said Hal Bennett, vice
president of global business development for Novell. "The combination of
NetVault and Open Enterprise Server offers customers high levels of
reliability and value -- bringing together the innovation of open source
technology and the stability of a true enterprise class platform with
high-availability data protection solutions to ensure your data is
always available."

"With Open Enterprise Server, Novell is responding to customer demands
for platform choice and flexibility," said Adrian Jones, senior vice
president, worldwide OEMs and alliances, BakBone Software. "BakBone's
support for Open Enterprise Server will enable customers to maximize its
benefits and confidently deploy business critical applications on SUSE
LINUX Enterprise Server 9 across their complete enterprise-computing
infrastructure, including enterprise class file services on NetWare --
without compromising their backup and recovery needs."

With more than seven years of support for SUSE LINUX, BakBone continues
to set the market pace for Linux distribution interoperability and
support, delivering the industry's broadest support for platforms and
applications in heterogeneous environments. While equally supporting
both UNIX® and Windows® platforms, BakBone now also gives customers
an expanded Linux choice and the confidence to deploy Linux in the data
center with Novell's latest Open Enterprise Server platform for high
performance computing environments.
