Bank of China Selects NitroSecurity to Strengthen Security and Compliance

New York Branches Drive Compliance, Operational Efficiency and Bolster Defense-in-Depth with NitroView SIEM Solution

PORTSMOUTH, NH--(Marketwire - April 14, 2010) - NitroSecurity, Inc., the leader in high-performance, content-aware security information and event management solutions (SIEM), today announced that the Bank of China has selected NitroSecurity's NitroView integrated SIEM and log management solution to further strengthen the security and compliance efforts of its New York operations.

Nearly 100 years old and with 350,000 employees worldwide, the Bank of China ranks among the top 20 global banks in terms of tier-one capital. Focused on large commercial interests, the U.S. operations for Bank of China represents one of the largest clearing banks in the country. For the three branches in New York, increasing the confidentiality, integrity and availability of customer data to world-class levels is paramount.

To accomplish this, and ensure full compliance with regulations including GLBA, SOX and PCI-DSS, the Bank conducted an extensive, five-month evaluation of six major SIEM technologies. The goal was to find the most effective solution to achieve total visibility and real-time, actionable intelligence. In the end, NitroSecurity's NitroView stood out as the most comprehensive and effective solution to meet multiple compliance requirements, increase operational efficiency and augment the Bank's defense-in-depth strategy and incident response.

The Bank has deployed NitroView Enterprise Security Manager (ESM) and Enterprise Log Manager (ELM), and plans to expand their defenses with the addition of NitroView Database Monitor (DBM) and Application Data Monitor (ADM) appliances. The Bank also chose NitroView based on the breadth and depth of its third party platform support.

"Whether responding to security events or regulatory requests, financial services organizations need superior solutions for immediate access to actionable information," said Ken Levine, CEO of NitroSecurity. "We appreciate the trust that Bank of China has placed in our people and technology and look forward to working collaboratively to provide the real-time responsiveness demanding security operations teams require."

Unlike legacy SIEM solutions whose slower performance limits information visibility to standard network device and server logs, NitroView drills deep and monitors all traffic on the network up to the application layer, protocol use and individual sessions. Using patented data storage and management technology that smashes performance barriers plaguing other SIEM providers, NitroView is able to collect and manage billions of events, logs, network activity flows and even application content -- while maintaining the real-time analytics that are required for rapid incident response.
