Barbara Bowes Launching New Book Resume Rescue on June 24th

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(Marketwire - June 23, 2010) - Barbara Bowes, newspaper columnist, radio host, human resource authority and President of the Legacy Bowes Group is launching her new indispensable job-hunting tool titled Résumé Rescue: Essential Résumé Saving Techniques. The official launch will be at McNally Robinson Booksellers, Winnipeg, MB, at 7:00pm on June 24th.

Résumé Rescue is an adapted, and expanded version of Barb's popular book Easy Résumé Guide: A Transferable Skills Approach which is now out of print. Since 1998, Easy Résumé Guide has served as an invaluable resource for those re-entering the job market, professionals looking for their first big role and as a tool for Human Resource and career management practitioners as well as high school guidance counsellors.

"Résumé Rescue builds on the ideas in Easy Résumé Guide, and was created to help people develop effective skills-based Résumés that truly work," explains Barbara Bowes. "For many people, the Résumé process - assessing their skills, history and accomplishments - can be daunting and form a barrier between them and the perfect job. This book was designed to remove those barriers, helping people to effectively market their skills instead of job titles, job duties and their former employers."

Coinciding with the release of Résumé Rescue, Barb is launching her new public speaking / training website (www.barbarabowes.com) on June 24th to showcase her speaking experience and availability. As well, later this summer Barb will be launching a second book called Taming the Workplace Tigers: Powering your Career to a Roaring Success. This is a self-help book designed to aid people in overcoming common workplace issues and helping workplaces develop productive, happy organizational cultures.

Barbara Bowes is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC), a Certified Human Resource Management Professional (CHRP-Fellow) and holds a Master of Administration in Education. Barb has written the popular Working World column in the Winnipeg Free Press for 11 years and hosts the weekly Bowes Knows HR radio show on CJOB. Her wide range of HR knowledge combined with her on-air talent has made her a go-to HR expert across North America.
