Big Land Auction: 1,069 Acres of Farms, Forest and Riverfront Land to Sell March 4

EMPORIA, VA--(Marketwire - February 2, 2010) - Approximately 1,069 acres spread over four Virginia counties -- including waterfront land on the Blackwater and Nottoway rivers -- will sell at auction Thursday, March 4, with Woltz & Associates managing the auction.

The land -- located in Southampton, Nottoway, Greensville and Sussex counties -- will sell in 10 tracts. Seven tracts -- a total of 250 acres -- will sell at absolute auction, with no minimum or reserve.

"The property is being sold by a land investment entity restructuring its portfolio a bit, and these properties include a lot of diversity, with farms, riverfront property and high-quality timberland," said Charlie Wade, who is managing the auction for Woltz.

"The timberland is primarily planted in pine, with some hardwood stands as well, and the farmland has an excellent record for productivity," he said. "Land prices are gaining strength now, so this is an opportunity to obtain high-quality land at today's prices."

Among the properties to be sold are:

-- A 110-acre farm in Greensville County
-- A 117-acre farm in Southampton County
-- 379 acres of timberland on the Nottoway River in Nottoway County
-- 437 acres of timberland where the Nottoway and Blackwater rivers come
   together in Southampton County
-- A home on three acres in Greensville County
-- A 23-acre tract with frontage on U.S. 301 in Sussex County

Woltz personnel will be available for inspections on Feb. 20 and Feb. 27. The auction will take place at 5 p.m. at the Golden Leaf Commons, Greensville County Government Complex, Emporia, Va.
