Biomass Plant Proposed for Southampton Port, an Industrial Info News Alert

GALWAY, IRELAND--(Marketwire - August 22, 2010) - Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland) -- Helius Energy plc (LON:HEGY) (London, England) is continuing its expansion in the biomass energy sector by securing a site at the Port of Southampton in England for a proposed 100-megawatt (MW) biomass plant. The company said that now that a lease agreement for the site has been secured, it will enter into consultation with the local authorities before submitting a planning application for the plant. The facility will be capable of supplying power to about 200,000 homes.
