Black Duck Software Expands Partner Program Services and Global Reach With New Strategic Alliances

New Training and Certification Programs Support Reseller and Legal Partners

WALTHAM, MA--(Marketwire - March 30, 2010) -  Black Duck Software, the leading global provider of products and services for accelerating software development through the managed use of open source software, today announced new training and certification programs for reseller and legal partners in addition to new strategic alliances extending Black Duck's reach into multiple markets, industries and regions across the globe. New partner services and alliances demonstrate the growth of the Black Duck Partner Program (www.blackducksoftware.com/partners) and support its mission to help businesses and organizations capitalize on the benefits of using open source software in multi-source development.

Black Duck is actively building up its partnerships across all partner categories, including Global, Legal, Systems Integrator and Consultancy, Open Source Community, Resellers, Forges and Databases and Solutions partners.

Reseller Training Program
Black Duck launched a new reseller training program to support its 18 reseller partners bringing the Black Duck Suite to regions across the globe. The program provides resellers with valuable training on Black Duck Suite features and solutions as well as implementation guidelines and co-marketing support.

Recent resellers joining the Black Duck Partner Program include Manageware, Anacom and Global Maxlink. Manageware is Israel's leading ALM automation provider. In addition to representing Black Duck, Manageware delivers a complete range of best-of-breed tools from IBM Rational-Telelogic. Anacom, also a Rational partner, represents Black Duck in Brazil, and Global Maxlink Sdn Bhd (GMSB) will offer Black Duck open source management solutions to the Malaysian market.

Legal Certification Program
Black Duck's Partner Program continues to attract premier legal firms that advise clients on mergers and acquisitions activity, open source licensing, compliance and open source-related intellectual property issues. Black Duck's new legal certification program provides instruction in software code assessments, reports and analysis using the Black Duck Suite. Law professionals completing course requirements receive a Black Duck Legal Specialists Certification.

Bird & Bird, an international law firm with more than 800 lawyers worldwide, is among five new Europe-based law firms to join the Black Duck Partner Program in Q1 2010. Legal partner momentum continues as a growing number of companies across the globe implement automated processes for managing and increasing the usage of open source software.

Solution Partnership with CollabNet
CollabNet, a leading provider of Agile application lifecycle management (Agile ALM) solutions, is the most recent technology company to join Black Duck's Partner Program. Black Duck's Protex and CodeSight are the first of Black Duck's suite of products to be integrated with CollabNet's Subversion and Team Forge solutions as part of the CollabXchange program. CollabNet and Black Duck are working together on additional integrations and joint marketing programs.

Expanded Service Offerings for Open Source IP Management
Olliance Group recently joined Black Duck's strong roster of systems integrator and consultancy partner firms that provide expert advice on application development and open source governance. Olliance Group, the leading open source business and strategy consulting firm, and Black Duck will jointly develop and resell IP Management consulting services worldwide. The agreement brings together two dominant market leaders to offer end-to-end open source IP management solutions.
