Bon-Ton Stores, Inc.'s Goodwill Sale Generates Record Donations to Support Goodwill Job Training Programs

MILWAUKEE, WI -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 30, 2006 -- From September 14 to 25, customers of Bon-Ton Stores, Inc.'s chain of seven department store nameplates donated more than 5 million pounds of clean, gently used clothing and home textiles at participating locations and received coupons toward the purchase of new merchandise. One coupon was given per item donated, and all donations support local Goodwill Industries job training and career programs.

Goodwill expects the donations to generate $6-$8 million in revenues, which will be used to fund job training and career services for people with disabilities, welfare recipients and other job seekers in the 23 states where Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. operates.
