Boxxer Commences Exploration on Boss Property

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - May 26, 2006) - Boxxer Gold Corp. (TSX VENTURE:BXX) announces the commencement of a diamond core drilling program on the Yellowhorse gold zone along the eastern boundary of the Boss property, located approximately 90 kilometres southwest of Las Vegas, Nevada.

The drilling program consists of two phases. Phase one will include approximately 3,000 feet of core drilling in 10 to 12 shallow holes which will test the strike length and down dip extent of alkalic porphyry hosted gold mineralization outlined earlier by trenching and surface mapping in 2006 (see NR dated April 18, 2006). Pending results from Phase one; a second round of drilling will be implemented to further delineate the gold zone.

The first set of drillholes will test oxidized gold mineralization intersected in trenches B and D which assayed 1.85 g/t Au over 80.5 feet and 1.27 g/t Au over 55 feet. (0.66 g/t Au over 147 feet) respectively. A fan consisting of 2 to 3 holes will be drilled under each trench. The first round of drilling is expected to take approximately 4 weeks.

Concurrently, IP/resistivity and magnetic surveys in the Yellowhorse and Boss-Boss #2 areas of the property have commenced to further refine the 11 zones of copper-gold-platinum-palladium-silver mineralization, prior to selecting drilling targets.

ALS Chemex will complete sample preparation and assay-geochemical analysis. Boxxer will implement a rigorous sampling quality control program throughout the drilling program.
